OneDrive for Business on Mac

This manual explains how to configure OneDrive for Business for Utrecht University staff and students. OneDrive provides 1TB of storage per account.

  • Step 1

    Go to https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/

    Click Download to start downloading.

  • Step 2

    Open the downloaded file.

  • Step 3

    Click Continue to start the installation.

  • Step 4

    Select the preferred installation option and click Continue and Install

  • Step 5

    Start the installation by entering the credentials of you mac and click Install Software.

  • Step 6

    After installation you will be prompted to remove the installation file.

    Click Move to Trash to remove the file.

  • Step 7

    Start OneDrive from Spotlight or you Applications folder.

    When starting OneDrive for the first time you will need to sign in with your Utrecht University mail address.

  • Step 8

    OneDrive will open a new window asking for your Utrecht University credentials.

    Sign in with your mail address and password.

  • Step 9

    You can now choose where OneDrive will synchronize your files. Use the default folder or change the directory to your preferred location and click Next.

  • Step 10

    Select the files and folders you want to synchronize to your mac and click Next. You can later change the selected files and folders in the OneDrive Settings menu.

  • Step 11

    OneDrive will now start synchronizing your files. A shortcut to your OneDrive folder is placed in the sidebar of Finder for easy access to your files.
