EduVPN on Windows
This manual explains how, as a UU student or employee, you can install eduVPN on a Windows PC or laptop (Solis and non-Solis/private) so that you can safely surf the Internet.
Keep in mind that eduVPN does not connect to the UU/Solis network. If you want to connect to the UU network, use the Cisco Secure Client VPN (see the first 14 steps in https://manuals.uu.nl/en/manual/u-and-o-drive-on-windows-10-vpn/).
-
Step 1
If you have a UU managed/Solis Windows computer, you can find and download the eduVPN application from the Software Center.
For private/non-solis Windows computers, you can download and install eduVPN from this link: Getting started with eduVPN | SURF.nl
-
Step 2
Start eduVPN after it is installed (via the start menu or the icon on your desktop)
-
Step 3
In “Find Your Institution,” type the name “Utrecht University” in the search field and then select it from the list.
-
Step 4
You will be redirected to a Surfconext login page. Click “Continue…” to proceed.
-
Step 5
You will be redirected to the UU login page. There, enter your username (email address or Solis ID), password and 2FA.
-
Step 6
Click ‘Allow’ to set up the VPN connection.
-
Step 7
After establishing a successful connection, you will see that you are now securely connected through eduVPN.
