Printers Canon: Getting started

Can I print on these devices?

Whether you’re an employee, student or guest, you can print on the Canon multifunction printers. It works a bit differently from what you’re used to. For example, you can no longer log in with your Solis credentials, but you can log in using your smartphone. You can print without physically touching the printer or send a print job to the printer from your personal email address.

Below is a description on how to do this.

Before you begin:

Employees:
Your campuscard has recently been linked to the Canon Multifunction printers. This is the only card that can be linked to to these devices.

Students and guests:
Xerox credits do not work with Canon printers. If you still have credits on your Xerox account, they will be transferred to your Canon account in early September. Until then, you will need separate credits for both Xerox and Canon. You can add credits on the Campus Portal or Campus Print app. For more information, visit the Canon Support page: Top up your print credit

These are the new Canon Multifunctional, which will replace the Xerox Multifunctional starting August 2026.

Which options are available for sending a print job to the printer?

Log in to the Canon Multifunction

All the methods for logging in to a Canon printer are described on the Canon Support page: Log in to a Canon printer. Students and guests can request a PIN on the website. The PIN will be sent via email, along with instructions on how to link a card.

Where can I find more information?

The manuals are a Work in progress.

  • The Canon Support site contains a lot of information about the multifunction printers and procedures related to them.
  • More manuals will be posted on the UU’s manuals site under “P” for printers in the near future. Starting tomorrow, the “Canon Printers: FAQ” section will be updated.
